Kickoff 2006 - Växjö

Vi träffades på Emigrantinstitutet i Växjö för att lagen för första gången skulle få träffas och lära känna varandra lite. Lagledarna var lika nyfikna på att få se vilka spelare de skulle ha tillgång till.

Först hade Yngve från Emigrantinstitutet en kort genomgång av emigreringen från Sverige till USA.

Ungdomarna delades in i sina lag och fick träffa tränarna samt gå en kort tipspromenad i utställningen om utvandringen.

Lite fika ingick så klart också i kvällens aktiviteter.

We all met in Emigrantinstitutet in Växjö for 2006's kickoff. This institute is grounded because of the great amount of emigrants from Sweden to other countries in the 19th and beginning of 20th century. Most emigrants travelled to USA. During this period - Sweden was a very poor country and many people suffered. To get a better life many of them emigrated.

The emigrant institute has a lot of visitors each year from both USA and Sweden, that wants to investigate their ancestors destinies.

We got a short introduction from the personnel of the emigrant institute and then the kids where placed in their teams in order to get to know each other and the coaches. They also got some tasks to find out more about the emigration in the exhibition.
